Joachim Christian Wiegert was born on May 1, 1777, in Dörgelin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, the son of Anna and Peter. He married Magdalena Margaretha Steinmöller on April 20, 1798. They had seven children in 19 years. He died on February 13, 1829, in his hometown at the age of 51.
