When Helen Lillian Leistikow and twin sister, Marion, were born on December 28, 1929, in Wisconsin, their father, Otto, was 26, and their mother, Frieda, was 21. Her sister died November 15, 1930. Helen married Edward Leonard Zaren on May 14, 1949. They had two children during their marriage. She died on January 7, 2014, at the age of 84, and was buried at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
