When Ernest Carl Wiegert was born on May 14, 1886, in Dargun, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, his father, Franz, was 20 and his mother, Bertha, was 18. His parents and one sister, Emma, immigrated to the US in 1893 where a brother and two sisters were born. He never married and died on December 17, 1978, at the age of 92, and was buried in Waterford, Wisconsin.
